Linnea Landström (b. 1996) is a Swedish composer, choral conductor, and vocalist. Based in Stockholm and originally from Luleå in northern Sweden, she works across a broad range of musical expressions. Since completing her bachelor’s degree in composition, she has received commissions for theatre and performance productions, as well as chamber and choral music. Her work consistently revolves around the human voice—regardless of setting—and explores the purity of acoustic sound, often drawing inspiration from Swedish folk music and jazz. Until recently, she served as Chair and Head Producer of the Swedish delegation of Ung Nordisk Musik, a Nordic–Baltic network presenting new works by young composers through an annual festival. She is currently studying Choral Conducting at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm under Professor Mats Nilsson. The program focuses on advanced choral repertoire and includes regular collaborations with professional singers and ensembles, covering music from Gregorian chant to contemporary Swedish compositions. During 2025–2026, she is on an Erasmus Exchange at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague (NL), studying with Krista Audere and László Nemes. In 2024, she founded Tusen Tungor, an ensemble for treble voices based in Stockholm. The choir consists of 30 singers from diverse musical backgrounds, united by a shared interest in early Western music and folk traditions. Since its inception, the ensemble has performed sold-out concerts and engaged in numerous collaborations with various artists and venues. Linnea’s vocal journey began with studies in jazz vocals and interpretation under Kerstin Sonnbäck, where she explored different genres and approaches to vocal expression. Soon after, her interest turned toward classical music, leading her to study with Mats Bertilsson, a disciple of the speech therapist and vocal coach Britta Sundberg (1936–2019), who taught at the Royal College of Music in Stockholm and in London. These techniques have greatly influenced Linnea’s own singing, and she now performs as a soprano in Bertilsson’s choir, Olaus Petri Vocalis. The method shares many similarities with traditional Swedish and Nordic folk singing—a genre she has grown deeply passionate about in recent years and continues to explore under the guidance of Sofia Sandén.
