Biografi / Biography:
Mizky Bernal Miranda (Bolivia, 1991) is a composer, sound artist and improviser. Her practice lies at the intersection of contemporary music, sound art, and performance, with a focus on expanded listening, territory, and the critical use of technology. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Music and a Master’s in Sound Art from the University of Barcelona.
She is a founding member of Ensamble Inmediato, a collective dedicated to the creation and circulation of experimental works in Bolivia and the region. Her work has been featured at international platforms such as the Sonandes Biennial, Tsonami, Women in New Music Festival, Latentes Iberoamericanas/+s, the Bolivian Contemporary Music Festival, and the Contemporary Music Sessions, among others.
Her music has been broadcast on stations such as Radio CASO (Colombia), Frrapó (Germany), and CKWU 95.9FM (Canada). She has collaborated with ensembles including Low Frequency Trio, Quartetto Maurice, OEIN, OSN, Ensamble UL, and Ensamble CG, among others. In 2025 she was selected as an active composer for three major international programs: the 5th International Workshop for Young Composers AntiquaNova (Argentina), the International Computer Music Conference – ICMC 2025 (Boston, USA), and the Darmstadt Summer Course (Germany). She is currently developing commissioned projects across Latin America and Europe, exploring the intersections between composition, sound technology, and experimental music.
